As I posted a while back, the carburetor is of the constant velosity type! With this type the throtel cable only pulls the buterfly air plate open. The slide and neetle is then opened by the built up vaccume of the increased air flow. If the slide is tight or gummed up it does not respond to enrichen the fuel to match the increase of air. Solution: remove the slide and clean it, or as I have done remove the air cleaner and spray choke cleaner into the intake, while the engine is running. While doing the spraying opeen and close the throtel. Warning the engine tends to die so relulate this action accordingly. Also run asmall amount of liquid carb. cleaner in the gas for a tank full or two. This has solved my problem.
